Purpose

PacX is not only a visual update, but should also be an update to the overall user experience. PacX is an opportunity to improve not only the interactions for clients, but also to improve the underlying information architecture that will ultimately lead to an improved experience.

Process

  1. Research

    1. Run card sorting exercise on existing pages (with assumption that all pages need to exist to some degree)

    2. Run tree test with clients to ensure that proposed menu structure makes sense to them

  2. UX design work

    1. Sitemap proposal for enterprise

    2. Prototype of Information Architecture in action

Research

Let’s find out what users expect

OptimalWorkshop Card Sort

Purpose

To find out how clients, product owners, CS/PS think Enterprise should be organized and categorized.

Process

Participants were given 30 cards to sort into as many or as categories as they see fit, giving them to the opportunity to name categories as they like (open sort).

Results

3 different card sorts were run, and totals merged.

Category similarities could be combined to make informed main menu structure.

OptimalWorkshop TreeTest

Purpose

To find out whether the proposed menu structure (based on Card Sort results) makes sense to clients, ensure that they can find what they are looking for.

Process

Participants were asked to find 14 different locations (e.g. “You would like to see how many tickets you sold for a specific event”)

Results

TreeTest was run at PacNet20 and had 67 clients participate.

Next Steps

  • The tab menus (under main navigation pages) need to be revisited and reworked

    • Would like to run some independant card sort studies on these

  • Bulk actions needs to be reworked

    • Need to explore how this should work to best satisfy the user needs
